The Ningaloo – Western Australia

The pristine 280 km Ningaloo Reef Marine Park located 1000 km north of Perth is one of the rare places on earth where you can walk from the beach onto a coral reef.

The Ningaloo is described as a fringing reef – shallow and close to shore.

Supporting 500 reef fish species, 250 coral species, 650 mollusc species, marine turtles and seabirds.

Also the best place in the world to swim alongside one of the 300–500 Whale Sharks that gather here each year.

Situated on the west side of the North West Cape is Cape Range National Park, a spectacular place of rugged limestone ranges, breathtaking deep canyons and 50 km of pristine beaches.

Fantastic coral formations, starfish, dugongs, whale sharks, manta rays, dolphins and giant humpback whales are some of the fascinating marine life that inhabits the waters of Ningaloo Marine Park.

From Cape Range you can see the beginning of Yardie Creek, where a sandbar traps the deep blue waters of the gorge.
