Eroded by the Murchison River ever since.

This gorge is now 40 km inland and the sand is soft.

Venus is close to the sun and therefore not visible at night.

After the sun and moon, it is the brightest object in the sky, highly visible before sunrise and after sunset. Historically, known as the Evening Star at dusk, and the Morning Star at dawn.

Barnumbirr (Venus) is an important creator-spirit for Australian Aborigines and allows communication with their Ancestors.
